Firefox LogoJust in... another exploit vulnerability has been discovered in Firefox browsers, allowing the remote execution of arbitrary code (read: MALWARE). Everyone who uses version 3.6 or 3.6.2 of Mozilla Firefox should update their browsers asap. You can download an updated version of Firefox for free here. For more technical details about the latest release and the security bug discovered in Firefox 3.6.x, read the Mozilla tech notes here.

According to Mozilla, users using versions 3.5 or lower are unaffected. Of course, updating your browser wouldn't hurt.

Mozilla Firefox has been discovering a lot of security holes lately. Just more than a week ago Mozilla released Firefox version 3.6.2. to address another security issue with 3.6 browsers. Yesterday I had to reinstall my Firefox twice because it kept on crashing after I installed a lib-reader plugin. Of course, it's not clear whether this is related to the security issue or not.

Kudos to the Firefox team, though, for admitting and addressing bugs or holes they discover in their code.
